Arsene Wenger talked
about the future of 3 arsenal midfielders, claiming to have made up his mind
regarding the situation of injury prone arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby. Diaby
has missed the better part of the last 2 years due to injury, although this
doesn’t seem to have meant Wenger has given up hope on the towering midfielder,
and also progress report on Arteta and Rosicky.
Earlier in the season,
Wenger was asked about the future of the player, and he said a decision would
be reached in March. When asked if a decision had been taken about the futureof the midfielder, Wenger asserted that “By me, yes. I had a chat with him and
told him how I can envisage the future. He has to make a decision. Of course he
understands completely that he has to perform and to show that he can be
present on a consistent way. I will see where we go from there.”
When asked what the
future looked like for the player, he said “I won't like to go into details because we have to meet again to see
where we go from what I told you.” “It has to be linked a little bit with his
presence.”
Arsene hasn’t given up hopes on Diaby, and the player is set to prove
that his best days are not behind him, but he has the challenge of staying fit,
and that could be problematic. Do you think Wenger should keep him or sell him?
In other news, when asked if there was progress about the contract for
Arteta who seems to have a fight in keeping his place in the first team due to
the blistering form of Francis Coquelin, Wenger said “No”, and when asked if he
was confident the issue would be resolved in a positive way for the club, his
answer was “Yes”. The same goes for Rosicky.
