Sprinters Are Faster Than Footballers- Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has made an assertion that sprinters are faster than football players and disagrees with those who say Bellerin is the fastest player at arsenal
.

Arsene Wenger in his pre match conference ahead of the Reading game made an assertion that people who run for a living are generally faster than football players and that Theo Walcott remains the fastest player at arsenal. In his pre match conference a reporter asked him
“I don't know if you've heard of this spring challenge idea where the world indoor champion would like to race against your fastest player who we believe might be Hector Bellerin. Could that happen?

His response was
“Personally, I believe its Walcott is our fastest player.”

When further pressed about the issue, he said “And I agree completely that the sprinters are quicker than football players. But its different you know, football players runs with football boots on grass. Its different kind of runs, it’s not only pure pace. The pace in our job starts with brain, and of course then you put in action what you analyze on the pitch. But pure speed, I'm more convinced that the sprinters who are specialists are quicker than football players.”

Some arsenal fans have said if Hector Bellerin had been on the track the day Usain Bolt set the world record for the 100 meters, he(Bellerin) would have gapped Usain Bolt because he covered that distance in a shorter period of time than Usain Bolt.

What do you think? Is Walcott really faster than Bellerin? Are sprinters faster than football players generally? Have your say in the comment box.
