Wenger Confident of Keeping Promising Arsenal Star

Arsene Wenger has said he is optimistic of keeping promising talent Theo Walcott, and says the player could “have a great goal-scoring record in the future”

Theo Walcott got off to a promising start last season before a career threatening injury against North London rivals Tottenham ruled the player out for close to a year. Since his return, Walcott hasn’t enjoyed first team football due to a drop in form which is to be expected after such a lengthy lay-off.

The wingers contract expires soon, however, the arsenal manager seems confident of tying down the youngster for a long period of time, and has backed the player up to achieve great things for the club in the near future. When he was asked if he was confident of tying up his(Walcott) contract, the arsenal manager responded “yes” and when asked why he was confident of securing his signature, he said “Because I believe that Theo has a great future, he is just coming back from a very difficult injury, every week he's getting better and he's very young, and I believe he will have a great goal-scoring record in the future because of the quality and intelligence of his game, and therefore I would like him to stay with our club yes.”
