This tie promises to be a very entertaining and breathtaking one, and Arsene Wenger has expressed concern that FA cup matches should be unique, at least semi finals and finals, and also that a match of that caliber definitely should not be clashing with an FA cup semi final.

When asked what he thought of about that fixture in his pre match conference, he said “Look, let's focus on our job. I'm a bit surprised that a game of the same stature is played at the same time, there's a bit of a conflict there that is difficult to understand.” When further pressed on the issue, he said “Something should be done about it. I'm surprised that they did not analyze that in television deals you know because basically what happens there it is something that should have been planned to television channels who pay a lot of money for football have conflicted interests in promoting games, and that inside the country shouldn't happen.”

When he was asked if the fixtures clashing took anything away from the FA cup as a spectacle, the manager responded “No, but you would like it to be the unique competition that is played, especially a semi final and a final. I think you would want it not to be conflicting with other competitions.”
