Arsene Wenger further
reaffirms his belief that the moment the league starts, the transfer window
should be shut so that managers would be able to focus on fixtures and players
as well.
Wenger was asked what
he felt about the transfer window remaining open during the season and he said
“I stand on the fact that when the championship starts, the transfer window
should be finished. As simple as that because it's too easy to say when we play
3-4 games and see what we miss, and after, we correct it quickly with a lot of
money. I think it's too big an advantage for clubs who didn't work well during
the transfer window”.

Is it just me or is
this hilarious? I remember the transfer deadline day in 2011. I went to bed and
when I woke up, I bought the papers only to see four new players in Arsenal
shirts. In 2013, Wenger singed Ozil when the season was in full gear, and in
2014, Wenger signed Welbeck. Why would Wenger make such a claim when Arsenal
clearly is the team that has benefitted the most from this?
