Arsene Wenger has said
he is starting to reap the benefits of German wizard Mesut Ozil and has given
the reason for his poor form in his first season. Mesut Ozil had an enduring
first season at Arsenal after a threat to his position at Real Madrid was no
longer secure and the playmaker felt he had to move elsewhere especially
considering the fact that the world cup was fast approaching.
Last season however,
after a 4 month injury, Ozil came with a bang and dazzled the gunners with his
display and now this season, Wenger has said he is starting to get the full
benefits of signing the German. In his press conference when he was asked if he
was starting to reap the full benefits of Ozil, Wenger said “I feel so. I feel
that Mesut is now completely committed to the club. Maybe in the first year, he
didn't know really, he came from Real Madrid here. For how long, will it work
for him or not, will he enjoy it or not. I believe now, he is completely on
board, committed and focused on the results for the club.”
