Europa League Clash Far From Over Says Arsenal Midfielder

Arsenal favourite Jack Wilshere says the tie between Arsenal and Athletico Madrid is far from over and Arsenal can still emerge as winners from the tie. Arsenal took the lead after Wilshere assisted Lacazette to score. The Spanish giants however showed resilience and fighting spirit by scoring a crucial away goal with less than ten minutes of regular time to go.

Football fans all over the world have however said Arsenal are out of the tie because they could not beat a 10 man Athletico Madrid at home who also had their manager sent off. Wilshere has however rubbished these claims by stating the following.

"We knew what type of team they are – they were always going to try to hit us on the counter and I thought we dealt with that pretty well and defended really well,"

"They had a bit of luck off the keeper but at this level that's a massive goal for them.

"But at the same time we're confident that we can go to Madrid and with the chances we created, we are definitely going to create some chances and hopefully we'll put them away."

The good news for Arsenal is that Athletico Madrid were only able to secure one away goal which should not be difficult to overturn. The semi final clash at Madrid however promises to be a spectacle one would not want to miss as the Gunners are looking to give outgoing manager Arsene Wenger a proper send off by helping him lift an European trophy.
